NewsDecember 31, 2007 House of Doc's newest CD, "East of West" (Pacific Music/Warner), will be at a retail store near you on February 5th, 2008. The disc which has already gone to #2 in Canada on the Earshot! Folk/Roots charts and has been tapped as one of Jurgen Gothe's "Best of 2007" is already available on iTunes and at any House of Doc concert venue. Quinzy is very pleased to announce the completion of "One Boy's Guide to the Moon," their upcoming CD. Helmed by legendary producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda, the album sounds absolutely fantastic and the group is extremely excited to bring it to you early in 2008. Exact release date to be announced shortly. Quinzy & House of Doc put on the 3rd annual "Quinzmas" show at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg on December 22, 2007. The standing room-only crowd was treated to guest performances by Fred Penner, JP Hoe, Matt Worobeck, and a host of others. Also featured was their very successful Christmas song "Decemberwolf," which really set the tone for Xmas 2007. The 12 song collection, recorded at The Bath House (Tragically Hip) will be released on the Pacific Music/Warner label in Canada and will also be available on iTunes, as well as Discrevolt. Advance copies will go to radio in early September and House of Doc hits the road in October, November and December concentrating initially on western Canada. Coast to coast touring will follow in 2008 and you will surely see them at a festival or theatre near you in the coming months. Mixes on the new Quinzy album, produced by Michael Phillip Wojewoda, have commenced, with mixes and mastering slated to end by mid-September. The band is fairly vibrating with excitement about the new material and you can expect release announcements here and at www.quinzy.ca in the next couple of months. May 1, 2007 House of Doc's new album, the follow up to 2005's "Prairiegrass," is nearing completion. The 12 song project, produced by Vince Ditrich and mixed by Richard Sera is currently in the mix phase. Tracked at the "Bath House" in Bath, Ontario throughout March of 2007, the as yet unnamed project will be complete by early summer. The sold-out Christmas event, featuring Quinzy and their closest musical friends, grows steadily from year to year, threatening to turn into a multi-day presentation in 2007. 2006's Quinzmas featured many special guests, crooning drummers, a full-on choir, and even Santa himself, who arrived to say hello and of course sit in with the band on his guitar. This capped a banner year for Quinzy, who also charted two songs in the Kick FM Top 100 for 2006. House of Doc Back from a fantastic but all too brief tour of Poland & Germany, HoD will be recording their follow-up offering to "Prairiegrass" in Feb, March & April with Vince Ditrich again at the helm. All the while they'll be nipping away to perform in places such as Thunder Bay; Oakville, Ont. (with Blind Boys of Alabama); Moncton, NB; Calgary, and others. For updates & details please visit www.quinzy.ca November 7, 2006 House of Doc had two very successful weekends in October First at the WCMAs in Winnipeg where their award show performance was a hit, performing "Winnipeg Man" with Bob King; and the next weekend at OSAC in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where their showcase stirred up a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm. HoD performs in Warsaw, Poland at "Klub Skarpa" for a private concert on 30 November; at "TRAFOStation" in Viersen, Germany on Sunday, 3 December; and at "Kulturwerkstatt" in Paderborn, Germany on Tuesday, 5 December. 22 December Winnipeg, MB.
